On November 7th, Giambattista Valli collaboration opened in selected stores all over Canada but namely one at the Eaton Centre. The line-up started at around 5-6pm the night before the collab. Thousands of people lined up and set up camp outside the store to get first dibs on some of the most beautiful pieces and designs by Valli himself. Students at Ryerson have been eyeing this collaboration for months as Kendall Jenner featured one of the pieces at the Cannes Gala in France. Valli’s pieces are usually featured annually during the Paris Fashion Week, held in one of the biggest fashion based empires around the world.
The collection consisted of colourful designs ranging from dresses to blouses. Not only that but the collaboration also included sweaters, t-shirts and accessories such as necklaces, earrings, and small clutch purses which are perfect for formal events such as semi-formals or even prom! This year’s collaboration was a little more relaxed compared to Moschino’s collaboration with H&M last year as the lineups started to slow down around 5-6pm. However, the designs are perfect to wear whether you’re going out on a date to a cafe or a casual meeting with your coworkers.
There are still some remaining pieces left at H&M Eaton Centre but only mainly have some casual pieces compared to the more fancy pieces such as blouses and dresses. It has been known that Valli’s famous Tulle dress, which is the same one that Kendall Jenner wore at the Cannes Gala was sold out in minutes both online and in store! The prices of Valli’s pieces ranges from $60-$400 CAD. The Tulle Dress retails for about $349 CAD which is much lower than I expected for designer pieces. So if you’re looking to spend a little bit more cash to upgrade your wardrobe, then the Giambattista Valli pieces are definitely for you!
