I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think October was an amazing month in the music world. Not just any music, but in the alternative rock scene especially. If you couldn’t keep up with all the releases, or if you didn’t really pay attention to them, I’m here to catch you up! Twenty One Pilots- Trench
Trench, the fourth studio album from American duo Twenty One Pilots, is another journey through a lot of deep emotions. They returned from touring their last album, Blurryface, and got right to writing new music- and they definitely wrote it well!

Tokyo Police Club- TPC
Tokyo Police Club is a local Newmarket band that has been making amazing music since 2005. With only a year passed since their most recent studio album, this is definitely a breath of fresh air. The band strays away from their conservative sound and
takes on a new rock style.

Max Frost- Gold Rush
Max Frost is a lesser known name in the alternative world but he shouldn’t be! Prior to this, he had experience releasing a few EPs. Now just released is his first studio album- a great debut and some of his best work that will definitely have you in a groovy mood.

Young the Giant- Mirror Master
Young the Giant has always been one of my favourite bands because they are so unique. This album is probably their best yet in terms of music that translates easily in the background of a study session or as music for a relaxing commute.

Arkells- Rally Cry
After the single “People’s Champ” was released this spring, the hype only grew for the fourth album by Arkells. You’ll definitely feel Canadian pride and ready to take on the world after listening to this one. Expect rock beats and riffs that feel like you’re at your
own personal concert!
