Discover Italian food market, restaurants, dessert, cafe all in one place
Eataly
55 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON
If you want to try all things italian, you need to check out Eataly! It is a grand building outside of Bloor and Yonge TTC station, it has restaurants, bar, grab-n-go food, desserts, brewery, and marketplace with fresh cheese and meats and more. The best thing that I love about this place is that you can buy the exact sauces, fresh pastas, and the same authentic ingredients from the restaurant directly in the grocery market!! Not only do they sell over 50 types of cheeses, 4 shelves of different pasta sauces, authentic pizza by the slice, but the coolest thing was that you can purchase fresh daily pasta by lbs to bring home.
We dined at the La Pizza & La Pasta restaurant. We got their most popular pasta and a 4 cheese pizza to share between the 3 of us. Their fresh pasta is absolutely HEAVENLY! It tastes so different from pasta we would just boil and make from home. Every layer of flavours from the dish was balanced to perfection, with the right amount of richness from the sauce pairing with the spices. The 4 cheese pizza as well was just delicious, their high quality cheese gave the overall pizza a fresh taste matching the texture of their crust,, and the price was worth every single bite.
Tip: Recommend booking a reservation at the restaurant prior to your visit, because the live wait-time can go up to 1hr depending on the day.

Don’t forget to save your stomach for a scoop of their awesome gelato! On the 2nd floor of Eataly next to Pizza Alla Palla, there is a Gelato Lab with over 20 flavours of fresh gelato. Their gelatos are made daily using fresh milk sourced from Ontario, and you can taste the natural flavour and softness with each scoop. Definitely recommend the tiramisu flavour and the pistachio flavour. The tiramisu flavour was so uniquely compacted where you can still taste the layers of espresso coffee, cream, and even the lady finger too. To get the maximum amount of gelato, I recommend ordering it in a cup because they really pack it really tight. Aside from gelato, they also have other cool desserts like cannoli, tiramisu cake, italian chocolate and so much more too.
Tip: If you have a hard time making decisions as I do, ask for some free sample scoops
