About SpiritLive
SpiritLive is a 24/7 web-streaming broadcast station, featuring original content produced by students of the RTA School of Media from our studios in the Allan Slaight Radio Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University. We’ve been around in some form or another since 1998! Our goal is to provide RTA students with a platform from which they can create and disseminate media, putting to use the knowledge, skills, and creativity they have honed in the RTA program.
Want to get involved at SpiritLive? RTA students are encouraged to submit proposals for new live shows and podcasts, and to upload work they’ve produced. We’re always looking for students to write news, articles, and reviews. Join us!
Meet Your 2026-2027 SpiritLive Team
O Stecina - ASRI Live Events Coordinator and SpiritLive Station Manager
O (They/He) holds down the fort here at SpiritLive, serving as the Live Events Coordinator for the Allan Slaight Radio Institute and the leader of SpiritLive programming. O began their SpiritLive journey as an undergraduate Media Production student, hosting the Break Your Game Podcast and The O-rchestra Live Show, and serving as editor for the Power in Heels podcast. For their fourth year practicum project, they created an immersive audio documentary, Soundscapes of Self, exploring gender and voice.
After graduating in 2025, O has conducted research on Spatial Immersive Geolocated Audio Experiences (SIGAE), hosted a podcast following the Dashcon 2 Tumblr convention (Return To The Ballpit: A Dashcon 2 Podcast), created a sound walk for the TRCA, and lead the SpiritLive team since the Fall 2025 season. You will frequently hear them giving announcements between songs, or hosting the SpiritLive Island Living Live Show.
