Visually Appealing Music Videos

Before I get into it, I want to make one thing very clear — it was very difficult for me to compile a list for the purpose of this blog. I have been captivated by music and their accompanying videos since I was a kid and there is just no way I could choose “the best” or “my top five”. I just really appreciate the visuals and production of the following five videos and think anybody reading would enjoy them as well! The first one that came to mind and had always stuck in my memory was “The One Moment” […]

New Artists to Add to Your Playlists

It can be hard to find new artists to listen to. After a while, we get sick of hearing the same music and the same artists. It took me a while to figure out a good routine with regards to finding new music, but I’m here to offer my advice. If you end up enjoying even one of the five artists I’m recommending, I’ll be happy! I decided to write about six artists who have a monthly listenership that is on the “lower end”. These definitely aren’t names you hear frequently (at least for now) but they are definitely worth […]

Albums to Listen to While Doing School Work

I’m not sure about you, but I find it hard to stay on task when I am in a silent environment. When I study, I like it to be silent, but when I’m doing basic school work, I like to occupy my brain some other way. I like to use this time to listen to new albums or to listen to my go-tos. So without further ado, here are some of my favorite albums to listen to while doing school work (no particular order). If you really want to focus on what you’re doing while simultaneously having some background music […]

Quick & Easy Air Fryer Snacks

For starters, do not let this title mislead you. Although these recipes are catered towards making snacks in an air fryer, these are definitely doable in a toaster oven or regular oven. I have made these snacks to munch on both during and in between classes. They are so easy to make, they only take a few minutes, and they never disappoint. Before getting into things, I would like to mention that all air fryers (just like ovens) work slightly differently in terms of heat and time so the cooking times might need to be moderated based on your appliance.  […]

Maintaining Good Mental Health During Lockdown

Something that most of us are dealing with during this time is a mental health toll. It’s really difficult to feel happy, motivated, and optimistic while having such a similar routine for so long and not having much of a choice about where you spend your time. It’s especially difficult when it feels like there is no end or halt in sight. But, this doesn’t mean that all hope should be lost! There are many little things that can be done in order to keep up with your mental health. It’s so important to do so because your mental state […]

Setting Yourself Up for Academic Success

The situation we are all in is really tough for many different reasons. We have been limited in so many ways due to the pandemic. However, consistently staying motivated, focused, and enthusiastic while remotely attending classes has taken a toll on all of us… and most of us are looking for a way out of that funk. One of the most important things to make sure to do is write down all of your due dates somewhere you will not forget to look. I personally like writing my dates on monthly calendars and using an agenda to draw my focus […]

How to Stay Active During Quarantine

We are all in a tough situation. Most days, we sit in front of a computer, eat our meals, and sleep. It makes it hard to find time for ourselves and our own wellbeing. A good way to keep up with our health is to move our bodies somehow! Some movement is better than none at all and being active contributes greatly to our health, especially in times like these… along with the healthiest diet you can follow (be sure to treat yourself regularly though, these are tough times and you deserve it). Along with the difficulty of staying active, […]

Positions by Ariana Grande

On October 30, 2020, Ariana Grande released her sixth studio album titled Positions. Not much had been said about the album before the album’s single “positions” was released, however, fans figured out that Grande was giving them clues when she posted a video on social media of her slowly typing the word “positions” on a keyboard. Very soon after this video was posted, the single and accompanying music video were released.  At one point, the single was all fans had. They had guessed that the whole album would be about Grande’s sexual pleasures and sex life — the lyrics of […]

Easy At-home Exercises

In the times that we’re in, it can be difficult to find things to do to keep ourselves healthy (mentally and physically), but working out can be a really good pastime.  Not only will it give you something to do but you’ll be treating your body well. Working out had benefits beyond the physical ones!  Finding some time during your day to workout will help in increasing your energy levels, making you feel happier, memory, the overall health of your brain, clearing acne, and it can help us sleep more soundly.  It’s a really good way to treat your body […]

Healthy Snacks

During the stressful time of worrying about major assignments and finals, it can be really easy to fall off track with your diet.  Normally, we seek comfort in food and tend to eat more than usual and more junk than usual – there’s no shame in this, it’s only human nature!  But given the circumstances that we are currently in, it’s even more tempting to reach for our favourite sugary snacks. Since most of us aren’t being very active (we don’t have much of a choice), these actions can really take a toll on our bodies. Since we have more […]

Easy Winter Fashion

It can be hard to be fashionable in the cold weather that we get in Toronto.  Since winter coats, boots, gloves, and scarves are often essential for most of the school year, it can be really easy to focus more on staying warm rather than worrying about fashion.  For the record, there is absolutely no shame in solely focusing on staying warm, I do this all the time.  Clothes can also be very expensive so the following clothing items are catered to us students who like to be fashionable on a budget.  I always recommend thrift shopping since it is […]

Meatless Lunches On the Go

There are many benefits to reducing or completely eliminating your meat consumption.  Not only does it have positive effects on your body but the environment as well! Some of the biological benefits of omitting meat from your diet include reducing body inflammation, improving overall dermatological health, and lowering the risk of type two diabetes, cancer, and chronic disease.  Thinking about the effects that consuming meat has on the environment makes it easier to put things into perspective: 2000 gallons of water are used to produce just one pound of beef, oceans are estimated to be fishless by the year 2048, […]

Easy and Healthy Breakfast Ideas!

If you’re anything like me, you struggle to come up with healthy breakfast ideas, or any breakfast ideas at all.  We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and sometimes while we’re in school, under stress, and really busy, we forget to make time for ourselves and our health.  I personally really like the idea of making breakfast the night prior and just grabbing it and eating it on the go the next morning. I learned that almost 50% of post-secondary students nationwide skip breakfast at least once a week.  Taking care of ourselves is […]
