Big Tune Radio

Big Tune Radio is a weekly campus radio show focused around hip-hop music. Hosted by music producer Samuel Ashitey, each week a unique blend of tracks are curated. Music ranging from 80s progressive rock, glitch hop, and alternative trap are authentically added into playlists. Content is one of a kind and hard to hear elsewhere. Deep cuts from albums, international track versions and music that would only be found in fan forums are unearthed. The “Big Talks” segment breaks down relevant music news and topics swell as interviews with music personnel. Canadian musicians and underground artist who showcase work on sites including Soundcloud are given a platform to reach widespread audiences. In the “Expansive Listening” segment, sample based hip-hop is played in relation to its original source. Listeners are engaged through live social media posts.
