Films Around Toronto

There’s much more to the theatre than watching the latest films, and Toronto has a great collection of unique shows up its sleeve. February is the time to stay indoors, especially with the TIFF New Wave coming up.

Head over to the Ontario Place Cinesphere to watch some action-adventure classics in the best possible way:

Inception: The IMAX Experience playing from February 15-18 at 7:30pm.

The Iron Giant (Signature Edition) playing from February 16-18 at 3:30pm.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: The IMAX Experience playing from February 22-24 at 7:30pm.

Are you interested in watching live artistic performances? The Canadian Opera Company’s free concert series allows talented artists to perform for the public. This month, check out the dance series:

Tounkande starting at 12:00pm on February 26, a Ballet Creole that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Malinke people.

No Woman’s Land starting at 12:00pm on February 28, a dance that is based on the real stories of women in refugee camps.

The Royal Cinema is an awesome landmark in Toronto’s Little Italy. It hosts events from film festivals to live concerts and improves the experience for movie lovers. On February 17th, they are showcasing:

The Flintstones at 2:00pm, which you will want to show up early to!

Napoleon Dynamite at 8:00pm, which is 19+ since the viewing has live commentary and a drinking game.

Watch some throwback films at the Revue Cinema located in the Roncesvalles Village. These are the films that are constantly referenced!

The Wizard of Oz on February 17 at 1:30pm.

Legally Blonde on February 17 at 6:30pm.

The Princess Bride on February 23 at 1:30pm.
